Some Questions We Asked
What was it like to live with ED?
In my daily life it provided embarrassment, because there are jokes about men who have erectile dysfunction. And that’s fairly common, and you don’t like being the butt of a joke.
How did your ED affect your wife?
You know, when your wife says, “It’s OK, it really doesn’t make a difference,” you know she’s saying it because she loves you, but you can feel like she’s taking pity on you.
How was your recovery from implant surgery?
There’s no pain; the recovery for me was a week, I was back at work. And my wife remembers a little bit of asking for ice for the pain and everything, but it really was not bad at all.
Do you have any regrets?
I don’t have any regrets after the procedure. Everything has been positive. There’s no pain involved; I‘m not aware it’s even there.
How does it feel to be ED-free?
This is something very basic. It’s part of a man’s identity. It allows the man to feel like a complete man again. That he’s gone through things happening that have changed the man physically and emotionally and this really—in my case and I’m sure in other men’s cases—it has brought us back to wholeness.
